Carpentry

Class Goal: To prepare students for a career in the diverse carpentry field by acquiring and practicing necessary skills in a state of the art shop and on actual work sites.

As a young professional you will:

* Learn carpentry and related trade theory
* Learn safe and proper trade techniques
* Use industrial grade power equipment
* Learn project planning
* Participate in the actual construction of a house

Certified by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) to teach Carpentry, Masonry, The Green Building, and Weatherization Technology

BS and MA from California University of Pennsyvania

NCAA Division II National Champion and three times All-American in Cross Country

NCAA Division II two times 10,000 Meter National Champion and two times All-American in Track

Participated in the 1992 Olympic marathon trials

Track and Cross Country coach at South High and HCC

Coached several All-American and Academic All-Americans

Tech ed wood and metal shop teacher at Horseheads Middle School in NY

Metal/wood/masonry/carpentry/tech ed/FOT teacher at South High for 23 years
