Also requested is a waiver so that the school closing on March 3 and any future closings this school year will not have to be made up. Inclement Weather

There are five (5) inclement weather days built into the calendar. If five days are lost because of weather and/or emergencies, the last day of school will be June 12, For every day not used for inclement weather, the last day for students and teachers will change accordingly. For instance, in 2013-2014, if schools are closed four days because of inclement weather or other reasons, the last day of school will be June 11; if schools are closed three days, the last day of school will be June 10; if schools are closed two days, the last day of school will be June 9; if schools are closed one day, the last day of school will be June 6; if no days are lost because of weather or an emergency, the last day for students will be June 5. Schools have been closed ten days so far this school year (December 9 and 10, January 3, 7 and 22, and February 3, 5, 13 and 14 and March 3). One of those days was made up on February 17 and days will be made up on March 27 and 28. A request has been made of the State to approve April 21 as a regular school day, too. Also requested is a waiver so that the school closing on March 3 and any future closings this school year will not have to be made up. If necessary approvals are gained, that would leave the tentative last day for students as June 12.

Totals:

  • Teacher Days - 195 (includes 5 inclement weather days)

The final number of days for students and teaching staff will not exceed 180 or 190, respectively.
