Student Service Learning Senior Honor Night
HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 9, 2012) – Senior students in Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) who have earned at least twice the number of student service learning hours required for graduation in Maryland were saluted at the annual Senior Honor Night on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at North Hagerstown High School. This year saw a significant increase to 140 students, the number who earned at least 150 service hours, including Richard Rhinehart from Washington County Technical High School, who amassed 660 service hours during his school career. At WCPS, students earn 60 hours through activities infused in the curriculum, with the remaining 15 hours earned through projects/activities identified by the students.
