Academic Standouts to be Honored at Celebration of Excellence
HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 19, 2009) – Two hundred eighteen seniors from Washington County Public Schools will be honored at the Annual Celebration of Excellence Reception and Recognition on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at North Hagerstown High School. The event kicks off with a dessert reception at 7:00 p.m. followed by a recognition ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Each student being honored has achieved at least a 3.70 grade point average for his or her high school career through the end of the second semester of the senior year.
“We are very proud of the academic excellence achieved by these high school seniors and all our students, said Donna Hanlin, assistant superintendent for secondary instruction. “Their focus, dedication, and hard work sets a wonderful example to other students in the county.”
