Central Office Lobby to Reopen Tuesday

HAGERSTOWN, MD (January 21, 2008) – As of Tuesday, January 22nd, public access to the Central Office will return to the newly renovated main lobby, at the entrance marked by the flagpole. A receptionist will be stationed in the lobby so that a consistent point of initial contact can be made for questions, dissemination of information, appointments, and other business with the school system. The receptionist will enable lobby access to visitors through secure doors. Business hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The lobby will be open for public meetings after regular business hours. The Board of Education will meet Tuesday the 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Central Office auditorium.

After the observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday today, the Washington County Public Schools’ Central Office and all schools will reopen Tuesday the 22nd, but students will not return to school until Wednesday the 23rd. Tuesday is a professional learning day for much of the WCPS staff, with staff development activities in many schools and offices.
