Kindergarten and Pre-K Registration Dates Set

HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 6, 2004) - Registration dates for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten children have been scheduled by Washington County Public Schools for the 2005-2006 school year. To be eligible for pre-kindergarten, a child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2005. To be eligible to enter kindergarten for the 2005-2006 school year, a child must be 5 years old by September 30, 2005. Registration will be held at school locations on the following dates:

• Wednesday, February 9, 2005
• Wednesday, April 6, 2005
• Wednesday, May 11, 2005
• Wednesday, July 13, 2005

To enroll a child, the following must be provided: Birth certificate, social security number, immunization record, blood lead screening and proof of residency (current property tax bill, rental bill, utility bill, mortgage statement or credit card bill) with parent name and address on it. You CANNOT use a driver’s license. The child will also need a physical before the start of school.
