HAGERSTOWN, MD (December 1, 2004) - This fall, the Washington County Board of Education nominated Dr. Betty Morgan for the annual American Association of School Administrators (AASA) Superintendent of the Year awards program. In Maryland, the program is administered through the Public School Superintendents Association of Maryland (PSSAM).
The Board nominated Dr. Morgan for the national award because of her most recent performance review. “Dr. Morgan attained system reached goals based on a number of specific deliverables for the last school year, and this outstanding performance deserves recognition,” said Ed Forrest, president of the Washington County Board of Education.
PSSAM recently announced that Dr. Carl Roberts, Superintendent of Cecil County, was selected as the 2004-2005 Superintendent of the Year for Maryland. Dr. Roberts will represent Maryland at the National Superintendent of the Year event at the annual meeting of the American Association of School Administrators in February.
“I consider this nomination a great commendation,” said Dr. Morgan. “Regardless of the outcome, I am already a winner knowing that my staff and Board have confidence in me. Accolades and congratulations go to Dr. Roberts for his selection; I was honored to have been considered.”
