HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 29, 2006) – The award-winning C-Span School Bus will visit Williamsport High School on Monday, December 4, 2006, and Springfield Middle School on Tuesday, December 5, 2006, to share the educational resources the bus has to offer students and teachers. The visit was made possible by the Washington County Public Schools’ partnership with Antietam Cable Television.

Social studies students and teachers will be able to board the mobile production studio to see how technology is used to enhance the C-Span television network’s presentation of the activities of the U.S. government through the network’s use of vast public policy video resources. Teachers will also learn of C-Span Classroom, a free service that already has several thousand teachers taking advantage of its limitless video archives, lesson tools, and a liberal copyright policy.

The first tour of the C-Span School Bus was in 1993, and the bus is now on its 12th nationwide tour. The bus previously visited Clear Spring Middle School and Clear Spring High School in March 2004.

C-Span can be seen on Channel 27 on Antietam Cable.
