HAGERSTOWN, MD (November 19, 2004) - Jim Coller, Controller for the Baltimore Ravens, was guest speaker Thursday, November 18, 2004, at a meeting of Academy of Finance students and Accounting students at South Hagerstown High School. Mr. Coller discussed his career development, from Penn State graduate, to public accounting with KMPG in Philadelphia, one of the world’s leading accounting firms, to his current position with the Ravens. He was invited to speak by Academy advisor Sharon Hogan, after John Smith, one of her students, indicated his career goal was to become an accountant for the Ravens. Academy students will travel to Philadelphia on Friday, December 3, 2004 to visit the Federal Reserve, tour the U.S. Mint and see historic sites around the city. Also in December, Academy of Finance students will present a holiday program for fifth grade students at Bester Elementary school, including a skit and snacks, and are seeking gift donations for the event.
