Grand Reopening Scheduled for Salem Avenue Elementary

HAGERSTOWN, MD (August 16, 2006) – Salem Avenue Elementary School will celebrate its grand reopening with an open house on Monday, August 21, 2006, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. After three years of new construction and renovations, the 53-year-old school was completely renovated with the addition of a new gymnasium, cafeteria, media center, office suite and classrooms.

Current students and their families, alumni, and the community are welcome to visit the school during the grand reopening. Planned activities include tours of the schools, along with video and picture presentations of the renovation process. Current administration, including newly appointed Acting Principal Tom Garner, and staff will be available to answer questions and discuss how the changes will improve the learning environment at the school.
