HAGERSTOWN, MD (June 21, 2005) – The Washington County Public Schools production Stewards of Change: Making Progress, Making History has received an Award of Excellence from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) in the 2005 Publications and Electronic Media Contest. The production, which was created for the annual back-to-school staff and community communication for the 2004-2005 school year, was one of 18 productions nationwide to receive the highest honor in the audio/visual category of the competition.

The video was produced by Public Information Officer Carol Mowen, and was photographed and edited by John Jones, Digital Communications teacher at Washington County Technical High School, with script assistance provided by William Spinner. Students in the Digital Communications class at WCTHS took many of the still images and some of the video footage used in the production.

NSPRA provides communication training, services, and resources to school districts across the country. The production will be on display for viewing during the annual NSPRA Seminar, July 10-14, in Boston.
