HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 26, 2004) - The Washington County School Counselor’s Association announces the WCSCA 2004 Scholarship Award winners. Jonathan Beattie from South Hagerstown High School, Mallore Leggere from Boonsboro High and Shadae Paul from Clear Spring High each received $600.00 toward their post-secondary education. A panel of judges reviewed all applications, using scholastic achievement, community involvement, leadership and financial need as criteria.

Scholarship money is raised through the annual WCSCA softball game, organized by Clear Spring Middle School counselor Earl Meagher. This year’s game featured players from Clear Spring Middle and Springfield Middle Schools. Donations from WCPS employees were combined with advertising revenue from the game program to fund the scholarships.
