HAGERSTOWN, MD (May 22, 2007) – Four Boonsboro High School AP History students and their teacher, Chris Spaid, recently attended the 2nd Save Our History (SOH) Youth Summit in Washington, DC, to present their SOH project, and to meet with members of Congress, and leaders in preservation and education. These students and their AP History classmates have been working on the Sherrick House at the Antietam Battlefield, focusing on restoring the flooring. Part of the project involves the class exploring other potential historic preservation projects in Washington County.

The History Channel hosted the first SOH Youth Summit in New Orleans in October 2006, and is providing grant money for the students’ preservation project here and elsewhere around the country.
