HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 25, 2005) – The 2005 Summer Food Service Program will operate at eight open sites and three enrolled sites, as announced by the Food & Nutrition Services Office of Washington County Public Schools.

Free meals will be available to all children regardless of income who participate in the program at the following locations:

  • Elementary: Bester, Eastern, Fountaindale, Lincolnshire, Winter Street
  • Middle: E. Russell Hicks, Western Heights
  • High: North Hagerstown

The program for all above listed schools, except for North Hagerstown High School, will run from June 27th through July 28th. The program at North High will run from June 20th through July 28th.

Enrolled sites will be Hancock Elementary, Old Forge Elementary and Hancock Middle/Senior High School. To be eligible, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. The income guidelines for reduced-price meals by family size are listed below. Children who are part of households that receive food stamps or benefits under Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) are automatically eligible to receive free meals.

The following household size and income criteria determine eligibility for participation in the enrolled Summer Food Service Program:

There will be no physical segregation or other discrimination against any child because of race, color, age, national origin, sex or disability.
