HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 22, 2005) – As part of Steve Frame’s Entrepreneurship classes at Washington County Technical High School, students have planned and opened a business at the school’s greenhouse. Start-up costs, promotion and advertising, and operations were all part of the business plan, and students began in February to select the types of plants to grow and sell.

The Tech High Greenhouse will officially open on Monday, April 25, 2005 through Friday, April 29, 2005, from 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM. A schedule of business hours has been set for select days in May, and that schedule can be obtained from Tech High at 301-766-8050.

Dozens of plants are available, including geraniums, marigolds, impatiens and petunias, along with pepper and tomato plants.

Assistance was provided by senior Carpentry students, who built shelving and racks for the greenhouse, and by senior Digital Communications students, who took step-by-step pictures of the plants and the greenhouse.
