HAGERSTOWN, MD (April 2, 2007) – The students of Maugansville Elementary School recently packed up more than 350 boxes filled with cards, games, puzzles, crayons, and personal notes from Maugansville Elementary students to seriously ill children at Johns Hopkins Hospital. The students, parents, teachers, PTA, and business partners collected items in February, and put the boxes together last month. One shipment of boxes has already been sent to Johns Hopkins and a second shipment will go out in the next month.

Maugansville Principal Debbie Favinger said, “Our students learn valuable life lessons while working with a project like this. We feel great touching the hearts of children who need it the most.”

The children at Johns Hopkins are also receiving 100 different colored tee shirts and markers to decorate, autograph, and share with others.
