HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 31, 2004) – Williamsport Elementary School fifth graders and their families recently spent a month collecting hundreds of dollars worth of hygiene and health supplies, snacks, stationery and disposable cameras to be packaged and sent overseas to military servicemen and women. Packages will be sent to Iraq, Kosovo and Italy. Addresses were compiled from information obtained from local law enforcement agencies, Washington County Public Schools employees and friends or family members of Williamsport Elementary students. Teachers Todd Vogtman, Diahann Bryan and Stephanie Bard organized the effort. Stephen’s Excavating and Larry Allen Photography made contributions to help defray shipping and other related costs.
