Fairview Outdoor Center's Annual Kite Festival

HAGERSTOWN, MD (March 6, 2007) – Fairview Outdoor Education Center is holding its 5th Annual Kite Festival Saturday, March 17, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. A workshop will be offered for children to assemble their own kites and then fly them, but kite flyers of all ages are welcome to also bring their kites and fly them. There will be a materials charge of $.50 for the kite workshop. A special prize will be given for the largest green kite that actually flies.

To get to Fairview take Exit 18 off Interstate 70 at Clear Spring, MD. Go north into Clear Spring on Maryland Route 68. Turn left on U.S. Route 40. Go west one block and turn right at the traffic light on to Martin Street. At the end of Martin Street turn right on Broadfording Road and travel approximately 100 yards. Turn left on Draper Road. The entrance to Fairview Outdoor Education Center is about 1/3 of a mile from this intersection.
