Boonsboro & North High Recognized as Top Schools by Newsweek Magazine

Boonsboro High School and North Hagerstown High School are listed among America’s top high schools by Newsweek for the third consecutive year.  The 2009 list of the top 1,500 public high schools in the country features North High at number 571 and Boonsboro at number 1,334.  The rankings were developed by education reporter Jay Mathews, who devised a formula to measure high schools’ success based on the number of Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and/or Cambridge tests taken by all students at a school, divided by the number of graduating seniors.  The 2009 list is based on data from 2008.
