Washington County Public Schools is seeking interested persons to fill the positions of substitute bus drivers and assistants, and substitute crossing guards. Training is made available and can be scheduled on evenings and weekends.

The educational specifications for the new "West City" elementary school were presented to the Washington County Board of Education and approved on May 21.

The Washington County Public Schools Educational Facilities Master Plan has been updated and a draft version is available.

The Washington County Board of Education has given the Facilities and Enrollment Advisory Committee a new charge to study options for short-term attendance relief at Pangborn Elementary and an attendance zone for the new "West City" Elementary School.

The Washington County Board of Education has approved August 21 as the first day of school for the 2013-2014 school year.
