Department Description

The mission of the Human Resource Department is to plan, develop and implement for the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities and benefits available to all employees.

Programs and services are designed to provide highly qualified and effective staff members for the Washington County Public Schools.

The Human Resources Department is responsible for all aspects of human resources administration including:

  • Recruitment, hiring and retention of high performing staff
  • Administration of professional certification and e-certification standards
  • Employee performance and evaluation system
  • Employee relations
  • Contract negotiation
  • Substitute teacher recruitment and assignment
  • Personnel record keeping
