North Hagerstown, Williamsport, Smithsburg and Hancock high schools have been named to the annual Newsweek magazine list of "America's Top High Schools."  The rankings are based on student enrollment in more rigorous course offerings like Advanced Placement classes.  Newsweek named Maryland the number one state in the rankings, with more than half of the state's public high schools making the list.
